Content marketing uses value-add digital assets like whitepapers, blogs, images, infographics and videos to attract and engage a target market throughout the customer journey. A content marketing strategy might focus on one longer, core piece of content – like a whitepaper – and use that information to create multiple pieces of additional digital content that can be shared across a number of marketing channels, including social media. The idea is to reuse, repackage and repurpose.
Content is a major component of a solid market strategy. In fact, content is often the cornerstone of your overall marketing plan. Think about what you would publish across social media, blogs, emails and ads if you didn’t have content. Quality marketing content impacts organic search and google ads. In the case of organic search, websites who have high quality content, published consistently are rewarded by search engines. And in the case of paid ads, content is critical to success.
Quality content drives inbound traffic and leads, and when done correctly, engages your prospective customers with information they want and need.
